1. Background and Rationale
- The dynamic interplay between Earth’s physical, chemical, biological, and human systems presents
complex challenges that require integrated, scientific solutions. Global phenomena of earth, climate
change, biodiversity loss, environmental degradation, and health crises underscore the growing
need for advanced research and strategic counselling in the interconnected fields of Earth System
Science. The CEHESH Global Centre for Academic and advanced Scientific Research Counselling
in Earth System Science, founded in 2025 under the aegis of the CEHESH TRUST OF INDIA,
aims to address these global concerns through multidisciplinary research, academic engagement,
sustainable development practices, and informed public discourse. Recognizing the urgency of the
earth phenomena, climate crisis, loss of biodiversity and its profound impacts on human health and
ecological balance, the Centre aspires to become a hub for specialized scientific, professional
consultation, and scholarly publication.
- • Technical Counselling and Research Guidance
- CEHESH offers technical counselling services to professionals of different geoscientific organisations; teachers and students from various universities and colleges of our country in the fields of Earth, Climate, and Environmental Sciences, without any pecuniary (financial) implications. We also offer our guidance in improving the course curriculum of the colleges and universities for more technology enabled assistance with social relevance. However, registration is mandatory to avail these facilities. The donation to the trust after availing our short term and long-term facilities is not mandatory but shall be appreciated. Many educational and professional institutions of our country have come forward to avail these technical facilities. We also undertake the review of pre-submitted research projects for funding to different agencies such as UGC, DST, CSIR, and others, providing additional guidance and counselling to strengthen and enhance the quality of these projects.
- • Research Publication and Scholarly Dissemination
- In addition to its research and outreach initiatives, the CEHESH TRUST OF INDIA publishes DOIassigned, ISSN-bearing, indexed, and peer-reviewed scholarly journals that serve as credible platforms for the dissemination of original research and critical thought. Among these, the Journal of Geointerface functions as an interdisciplinary forum dedicated to advancing scholarly discourse at the intersection of Earth sciences, climate studies, environmental research, and public policy advocacy.
- The journal actively encourages contributions from both national and international researchers, fostering global perspectives on regionally and globally significant environmental challenges.
- Complementing this academic endeavour is the Trust’s additional publication, GeoChronicle Panorama, which stands a beacon in the expansive intellectual landscape of Earth, Climate, and Environmental Sciences. As a peer-reviewed, ISSN-bearing scholarly journal, it harmoniously blends rigorous academic inquiry with a deep commitment to social relevance and educational engagement. Conceived as a vibrant forum for meaningful dialogue, GeoChronicle Panorama nurtures thoughtful exchanges between students and teachers, promoting the cross-pollination of ideas that transcend classroom boundaries and resonate within the broader societal context.
- Through meticulously curated articles, critical analyses, and reflective discourses, the journal illuminates the dynamic interplay between Earth systems, climatic transformations, and environmental challenges. In doing so, it aspires to cultivate scientific temper, ethical awareness, and ecological responsibility, fostering a generation of scholars and educators committed not only to knowledge creation but also to the stewardship of our shared world.
- • Editorial and Review Activities
- Presently, CEHESH has undertaken the editing and reviewing of research papers submitted to the National Seminar on “Molecular and Geological Perspectives on Biodiversity.MGPB-2025” This national seminar was conducted by Govt.Women’s College,Keonjhar. These selected papers will be published in a special volume of the Journal of Geointerface.
- • CEHESH stands as a vital conduit between scientific understanding and societal well-being, nurturing a community driven framework to confront earth and environmental challenges particularly within the diverse and vulnerable landscapes of India. Through its scholarly journals, the organization channels rigorous academic research into the public sphere, while its outreach and welfare initiatives translate knowledge into meaningful action. This dual approach not only illuminates the delicate equilibrium of our planet but also inspires collective responsibility toward its preservation.
- • As Rachel Carson once warned, “In nature nothing exists alone,” and CEHESH echoes this truth by emphasizing interconnectedness between humans and ecosystems, research and practice, awareness and action. In an era defined by escalating earth hazards, climate change, and global warming, the organization’s work becomes an urgent clarion call. It reminds us that “the Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed.”
- • By fostering knowledge, compassion, and sustainable thinking, CEHESH helps shape a future where earth and environmental stewardship are not merely an aspiration, but a shared imperative.
- • We are dedicated to providing comprehensive academic, research counselling, and strategic guidance to students and faculty members across colleges and universities in the domains of Earth Sciences, Climate Studies, and Environmental Sciences, offered entirely on a non-commercial and non-financial basis. Presently, the Professor and Head, teaching staff and research scholars of University of Madras have come forward to avail such opportunity.
- • The mission further encompasses the critical review and expert evaluation of pre-submitted research proposals intended for funding agencies such as UGC, DST, CSIR, and other national and international bodies, with focused mentoring aimed at strengthening conceptual frameworks, methodological rigor, and overall proposal quality.
- • We ensure the regular publication of two peer-reviewed scholarly journals: Journal of Geointerface (ISSN: 2583-6900), a research-oriented publication, and GeoChronicle Panorama (ISSN: 3108-0162), a platform emphasizing student–teacher academic engagement and discourse.
- • We extend editorial guidance and publication support for high-quality research and review papers emerging from National Seminars, Symposia, and Conferences, published as special thematic volumes in our journals.
- • Additionally, we provide expert technical assistance in the design, revision, and enhancement of academic curricula and course structures, aligning them with contemporary scientific advancements and national educational standards across colleges and universities.
- • Increased public and institutional awareness of earth and environmental challenges and sustainable solutions.
- • A thriving global network of Earth scientists, educators, and counsellors associated with CEHESH.
- • A regularly published, quality publication, Journal of Geointerface since 2022 and student -teacher relevant publication, GeoChronicle Panorama, have become a credible source of scholarly literature in Earth and environmental sciences.
- • Strengthened collaboration between scientific research and real-world application, leading to measurable societal and environmental benefits.
